A major player on the Belgian market
With an installed capacity of 1,955 MW at the end of 2015 and more than 30 sites in Flanders and Wallonia, EDF Luminus represents about 10% of the Belgian electricity generating capacity. This makes the company the second largest electricity producer and supplier of the country.
To ensure optimal service quality, EDF Luminus has developed an activity panel at the service of its customers in Flanders and Wallonia: thermal power stations, éoliennes and centrales hydro-électriques and a whole range of innovative energy services. The company also owns shares in multiple nuclear installations.
Based in Merelbeke, Flanders, ATS employs 600 people and has a turnover of over 100 million euro. The company provides a range of technical solutions to its industrial, tertiary and public sector customers. Dauvister is a company specialised in the sales, research, installation and maintenance of advanced technologies allowing to reduce the energy bill, for example heating, sanitary installations, ventilation and air conditioning for both residential customers and SMEs.
Rami Services was founded in 2003, is situated in Zwijnaarde and employs 6 people. The company collaborates with a network of approximately 250 independent repair companies in Belgium. On behalf of insurance companies and agents, they take care of urgent repairs in homes to stabilise an emergency situation or to help prevent further damage. Rami Services also coordinates permanent repairs in case of damage to homes covered by a fire insurance policy.
The Vanparijs group is an engineering firm with extensive expertise in engineering, contracting and maintenance of cogeneration (simultaneous generation of electricity and heat) and UPS installations (uninterruptible power supply). “Power Quality” is their core business, with a focus on the creation of total technical solutions.
Green energy producer
For over 50 years, EDF Luminus has annually invested in innovative technologies to serve its customers and to develop renewable energy. This is particularly reflected in the construction and acquisition of wind farms and in the renovation of certain hydropower stations.
These investments have already paid off. More than 16% of the production capacity of EDF Luminus currently comes from renewable energy sources. About a quarter of this is hydropower while the remaining three quarters are wind power. As a result, EDF Luminus has become market leader in renewable energy, both in hydropower and onshore wind power.

EDF Luminus is committed on a daily basis. Their employees regularly collect waste carried by the stream to the power station on the river Meuse. In 2014, EDF Luminus removed 1,607 tonnes of waste from the Meuse, which makes them the largest waste collector in the surrounding area
